Order: Gonyaulacales
Family: Pyrocystaceae

Description: Unarmored, crescent moon-shaped cells. Chloroplasts present. Maybe bioluminescent.  Easily confused with Dissodinium pseudolunula.

Cell Size: Length = 100-140um

Distribution: Oceanic and coastal. Warm temperate to tropical waters?
