Order: Biddulphiales
Family: Eupodiscaceae

Description: Heavily silicified cells form curving or spiraling chains joined by mucous pads on ends of elevations. Heavily silicified. Numerous small chloroplasts.

Cell Size: Width (apical axis) = 10-97um

Distribution: Most abundant in north temperate regions, and likely cosmopolitan. Maybe  a littoral species.

Synonym: Biddulphia aurita
