Family: Hemiaulaceae

Description: Cells form chains, sometimes curved or can be twisted. Valves are elliptical with long and sometimes claw-like elevations (connecting horns).

Cell Size: Width (apical axis) = 15-35um

Distribution: Oceanic to neritic, temperate to warm water.
